This is not an easy post for me to make but as you have all been so supportive here over the past years I wanted to let you all know what has been going on.
I was due to start chemotherapy on 9th June to try and halt the spread of my secondary cancer. Unfortunately I ended up in acute renal failure and had nephrostomy tubes inserted in each kidney. We then found out that my haemoglobin was very low as were my blood platelets. Many transfusions of each have followed with varying success. I am being offered an oral chemotherapy which should try and slow the rate of disease down from tomorrow but….?
A bone marrow biopsy has shown that the cancer is now in my bone marrow so there is little hope. I have been given a few weeks to live without treatment as my platelets are so low.
Sorry to be so direct but this is the best way for me to deal with things.
If I do not manage to post much please forgive me. I am trying to keep in touch with my good friend Webs so maybe she will update you all.

    Dear Anne,
I am so sorry to hear how things are going with you. I am not a religious person , but for you I pray, and dearly hope that your doctors can give you some more time with your family, and that this precious time with them gives you some comfort. You have impressed me so much with your responses to help others here on the site, even when you were obviously fighting a huge battle yourself. Thank you for being my friend.
    Love Diane

    Dearest Anne,

I have been thinking about you and wondered what was going on. I am heartbroken to learn that your cancer has gone into the bone marrow. I know what that means as it was the bone marrow problem which kept my husband from getting chemo. What kept him alive was blood transfusions and Procrit shots every week.
I can’t make any sense out of bladder cancer and what course it takes.
I wish we could have spent more time visiting I will always cherish our meeting.
    Love and hugs xoxo, Julie

Anne, as others have said, I’m at a loss for words. You are one of the first people I “met” here, and one of the first with whom I chatted. When I read your news, all I could think is IT’S NOT FAIR! You are too young, you have fought so hard, gone through so much. You mean so much to the community here, and I’m sure to your family and all who know you. I wish you comfort, peace, and the best and most meaningful experience in the time that remains to you.

Since you have been so supportive and sharing important messages for each of us it is hard when there is no way to repay that during this time for you. I am so sorry.

I will continue to send up prayers for you,

    Anne,

What an inspiring soul you have been for all of us; this news is, well, it’s so full of sadness that most of us are without words and definitely full of emotion; will keep you all that much closer in my prayers….may God bless you with the grace needed for this final chapter. Hugs.

Anne, you have been such an integral part of this group, and always willing to chime in to help others, it is just horrible that we don’t seem to be able to help you now.

Please know that all our thoughts are with you…

    Anne,

I was saddened to hear your news and don’t know what to say. I do know that we will all meet in another place someday. Just listen for a loudmouthed “cheeky” Yank and that will be me.

    My prayers and love.

    Anne,
I am alive today, because of what I learned from my father passing from bladder cancer. You have inspired many, many people, and I am positive you have saved more lives, and will continue to, than you will ever know. God bless.

    Anne,

There are no words to describe how heavy my heart is at your news. Our instincts are to try to make things better for the ones that we care about and when we can’t we are at a complete loss of what to do or say. All I do know for sure is that you are a part of the heart of this community. You have helped so many with your understanding and compassion. When I see someone here fighting their own battles but still reaching out to help others I am seeing the best of what is human in us all.

If you feel like posting please do we are here for you, I hope you know that. If you don’t know that we are still thinking of you.

I can’t take any of this away but I can promise you this. I will keep you in my heart and I will work for as long as I can to try to make sure that the day comes that this monster no longer exists.

    Sending you love

    Cynthia

So very sorry to hear this Anne. We had all been hoping for a very different outcome and it is heartbreaking when things turn this direction.

Thanks for all you’ve been doing here over the past few years. You have helped a lot of people.

Oh, Anne…….this is absolutely the last news I wanted to read! I was so in hopes they would find a way to make chemotherapy a tool to fight this. You are such a lovely lady with so much to live for and so much life left to live!

Please know I think of you and pray for you everyday.
