Under investigation
Hi all, am 66 year old woman being investigated for cancer. I had a lot of gross hematuria including passing big blood clots and came up negative for UTI twice but I had been taking a natural antibiotic prior to that testing (oil of oregano). Was given nitrofur mac and took full course and everything cleared up. The cytology report taken before nitrofur mac came back as “Atypical urothelial cells present, favor a neoplastic process” and subsequent FISH test came out as: “25 of 25 cells analyzed using UroVysion assay had aneuploidy in at least 2 of the chromosomes (3, 7, 17) and 0 cells had a homozygous deletion of the 9p21 locus. ” The CT scan showed a thickening of bladder wall and 2 large cysts on kidney, subsequent ultrasound came back with normal bladder (not showing thickening) and 1 of the 2 cysts is septated. Doctor said will discuss cysts at cystoscope exam.
Had anyone had results like this and it turned out not to be cancer with 25 of 25 cells positive for aneuploidy? Just trying to make sense out of all this.
