During the cystoscopy today, the urologist spotted a small, suspicious spot, about 2 mm. Is it benign? Low grade? High grade? In the past, I’ve had all three — one benign, two low grade, one high grade. Previous tumors (1998, 2000, and 2007) have all been near the neck of the bladder; this one is on the posterior wall. The urologist wanted to biopsy it in the office and then use fulguration to destroy it. I did not acquiesce, given that I had a high grade, albeit tiny, tumor removed last year. I believe the biopsy should be done in the O.R. so that more of a specimen can be taken. The urologist says he will do it in the hospital if that is my desire. So far, since the 7/07 tumor, I’ve had 6 weeks of BCG plus 3 weeks maintenance. Anyone else have a tiny tumor or suspicious spot show up after BCG treatment? What was done? What was the outcome?

    Connie,

I think only biopsy will tell for sure, but I did have some granulomas at the tumor healing sites after the initial 6 week BCG treatments – showed up as little red spots.
