Dr Lamm does recommend cutting the dose, however my Uro said, since I have not had any bad reactions, he has been using the full strength. So far, so good. If I do run into any problems down the road – he will cut back.

Nix, does your Doc use a less concentrated form of BCG on those maint. treatments? I though Dr. Lamm recommends a lower doseage for these vs the initial 6 treatments.

As you know already, everybody reacts differently. As for my Maintenance BCG, The reactions was a little more pronounced, but certainly bearable. I have had two maintenance so far, and three clear cystos – so hands down it is worth it – so far………
    Good Luck

4th one today. I am starting to hate Monday. I’d rather go back to bed and be lazy but i have to go there .

Just 2 more after this one. then he said i wait til sept. to do a look in the bladder.
if I have to have more of these bcg’s does it get worse or stay about the same? I hope it goes the same since i been feeling pretty good mostly.

I hope you had a nice 4th of July weekend. I did and ate too much though.

bye till tomorrow hope you all are feling good.

Yes , soon done :) I am feeling good now, just a little tired still , but not tired enough to complain about it. Could even be the heat here. I don’t do well in the hot weather.
i wonder if they will continue to be mild effects from that stuff. i am happy so far.

Thank you all very much. i am feeling a little better today. didn’t sleep well, but I think I will take a nap later.

I didn’t take any anxiety drugs since the first time so it must be the bcg stuff making me tired. I wasn’t nervous at all. I don’t like it still but i’m not afraid anymore .

4th one next week. I must find out what the next step is. i think I get another cystoscopy thing later , but can’t remember for sure. I will call him and see.
isee on my calenda there is an appointment to see him in September. that must be when he will look again.

Susant – I’ve just completed my 4th treatment & my a__ is really dragging. I believe that fatigue is a common side effect. Hang in there.

    Susan,
My husband had multiple cycles of BCG treatments in 2002. At one point, I don’t recall if it was right after a treatment, he felt awful, as if he had the flu, nauseous, etc. His doctors were always wonderful and available throughout this entire cancer journey. I called and spoke to the doctor who then ordered something for the nausea. It is great to be able to put questions out there, but I always believe that your doctor’s office is the best resource – contact them. Don’t be timid as it is no time to be timid. (At one point we had to step it up, and see another doctor to whom we were referred. Within a week of our visit with this doctor, I called the local doctor and told him it would not work, explained what had taken palce to that point, and asked him to refer us to someone else. He did.)
I hope you will be feeling better today. Do something nice for yourself or have someone do something nice for you. =)

I have never had stomach problems, like Rosemary, I just feel zapped the next day. Day of treatment, very uncomfortable and of course, spasms and urgency.
Hang in there, you have three done!

My after effects from BCG was not so much sleepiness but a feeling of being zapped. I never had stomach issues. I bet it’s the anti anxiety drug that is causing these issues…..
