I thought there were chlorine tablets available? All I know is my wife was in charge of that & am virtually certain she found some-heck that was almost 7 years ago. Whether they had the same potency, who knows.

My directions were to add chlorine bleach every time for four hours and let it sit 30 minutes before flushing. Many times, therefore, one treatment did for several episodes, as I was “going” constantly!!

The tablets in the toilet reservoir are NOT chlorine bleach, and do not have the
    same anti-bacterial power.

I think the recommendation is maybe 12 hours. We used basin tablets which was simpler and would last longer. While BCG toxins can but rarely cause a problem, my URO alleviated most of my problems saying: “If this was that contagious or dangerous I wouldnot let me nor my staff handle it”.
