I am so thankful for my recent wedding, and most of all my father being able to come and stay almost the entire night!

Here is where we are at now….he still has the nephrostomy tubes and just completed 15 days of radiation. This has made his stomach very upset, but the Dr. says this is normal. He saw the oncologist yesterday and they are going to wait a couple more weeks to let the radiation run its course, do another PET/CAT scan and then see where to proceed…perhaps more chemo. He is also having another test tomorrow to see whether the tumor in the bladder has shrunk enough to alleviate the blockage so that the tubes could come out. We are praying they do!

Hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving and know that I am thinking of you all.

    xoxo

I am very sentimental and I keep everything. It is nice to know that people care and love you. There is no shame in crying, it often makes me feel better. Just know that we are all here, with open arms, to help you get through the tough days.

Not too bad, considering. I finished all the thank you notes and letters last night, and did one last read through all the cards. Had couple of really good cries. It hurts SO much. Now, I have to decide what to do with the cards…..maybe I’ll keep them, and read them once a year, and toss them when I can read them without crying.

It snowed a couple of inches last night, and the world looked so new today.

    Hi Stephany,

They are going to do the scans and then decide treatment. Perhaps more chemo. Yes, he did get to enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner, so that was good. Unfortunately, he was up all night sick :(

    How are you doing?

yes, that is quite a blow. And at Thanksgiving, too! What do the docs say about more radiation?

And did he get any turkey for Thanksgiving?

So, more bad news yesterday….it seems that there is still a blockage and the tubes have to stay in. Of course this is not what we wanted to hear. It doesn’t appear that the radiation has worked. My father is very sick and very weak from it, and it hasn’t really done much of anything. This is quite a blow. :(
