My UROs office called and told me that my Doctor wants me to have an ultrasound done on my kidneys ,bladder and tubes this Monday. This after I had called and told them of a very small pain on the low left of my bladder.I told them the pain was very slight and went away in 2 days. This is the same area of my tumor.Anyone else had this happen?Cant help but worry about what the Doc. is looking for.Thanks.

I am certain you will do well-one day and treatment at a time. You should look forward to the end where you will be answering other peoples posts “been there and done that”!

Kent, that may explain it!!! Since you are a member of a doctor’s family, your uro is leaning over backward! And the ultrasound does not have a radiation load like CT”s do, so it is very safe.

A second opinion is ALWAYS a good idea; as you may have gathered from reading other threads in this forum, “get a second opinion” is the second commandment here. The best that will happen is that is will confirm that your current uro is doing everything right!

Sara Anne I had a ct scan done at the hospital [RMC] in ANNISTON Al.. during my first visit to the uro in Jan 2015.Had first TURB the next day.My oldest brothers son is my primary care Doc.and he has me set up for a second opinion visit next week in Birmingham. He is in favor of second opinions big time.. He went to Med School at UAB and will send me there if needed. So far he and I both have been happy with my URO here. They know each other fairly well through Medical practice.Im blessed to have them both but all this is new to me.Thank you for all your help. I think that the uro is being very thorough. Did you have a CT urogram after your diagnosis? Sometimes (not often) there are also tumors in other parts of the urinary system and these cannot be seen just by cystoscopy.

Don’t think there is anything new to worry about. Your doc is just being appropriately cautious. Let us know what happens!!
