For those who wanted there name on a card, I made arrangements for a Mass to be said at Susans church, along with a palm, which will remain in the church.
The card is signed by all those who took part in my post. Thanks, Ginger -

I didn’t know Susan all that well but I followed her posts and she seemed to be a loving and honest woman. Never a bad thing to say she was always focused positive and fought as a true warrior. I like to take this time to offer my condolences to her and also her family for their lost of Susan. She will be deeply missed here at the forum but her spirit will shine with God in heaven above. God bless , Joe -

I wanted to provide the proper link to donate to the Bladder Cancer Web Café.
http://blcwebcafe.org/content/view/178/189/lang,english/
For clarification as someone asked me yesterday the Web Café and the American Bladder Cancer Society are not connected in a formal way. We link to each other and respect the work the other does but we are two totally separate entities. The BLC Web Café will remain under the direction of Joris and Wendy and will continue the work they are doing there, while the ABLCS is under the direction of our board of directors and has its own mission.
I am sure that as Susan was a part of the forum primarily when it was under the BLC Web Café that her intention was that donations be made to them at the above link.
By the way I was reading the guest book linked to Susan’s obituary and there is no way the family can not know how loved and respected Susan was by her forum family, I am sure that it will bring them comfort.

I also encourge everyone to post on the obituary page for Susan, I agree that her family should know the impact she had on us here…Holly posted it before but here is the link again:

I want to also send a link to her family to come here and see Susan’s posts and the posts she received as well.
Dear Susan,
God saw you getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so He put his arms around you and whispered, “Come to Me.” With tearful eyes we heard that you passed away, and although we will miss you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
To Susan’s Family, my heart aches for you all…Your Wife, Mother, & Sister was and will continue to be an inspiration of compassion and love…Even while fighting the awesome fight , she managed to bring joy and peace to those who had the same diagnosis as she did or were caring for a loved one who did. In the Online Forum of the American Bladder Cancer Society, or Bladder Cancer Webcafe, she always asked “How are you?”…She never complained or was angry…she was an awesome woman and I will miss her.
I wish you peace in the coming days,
Karen

Holly, thank you for letting us know. I am so saddened that we will no longer receive Susan’s uplifting and positive post. However, I am happy that she is not suffering,
I posted a comment on the link for Susan’s obituary. It was very easy and strongly hope that others will also. I believe the family would like the hear from others how Susan helped us through our battles. unfortunetly, I did not really know Susan however, when I joined the group…I made a point to try and find her post because I was so impressed with her outlook. May God be with her family and also with us as we have lost a very special ANGEL.

ABLSCI have been working on ideas for how to handle our memoriam section; Susan will be the first we honor there.
In my time working in blc survivor’s advocacy I have been much honored to have meant a few incredible souls like Susan. They are more worried about others than themselves; they do not ask for comfort they are too busy giving it. When I read the news about Susan’s passing tonight and I thought of what she has been to this forum these words from the Prayer of Saint Francis popped into my head I believe that they describe the way she shared herself with us.
Grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console
to be understood as to understand
to be loved as to loveOur sincere condolences go out to her family, I hope they know what a source of support and caring Susan was to this community.

The above is the link to Susan’s obituary. Her sister wanted me to encourage all theat would care to to sign the guest book at the bottom of the obit. Also see that she has listed donating to the Cafe as one of the in lieu of flowers.
The day before Susans last surgery she spoke a while with me on the phone. She felt her time was coming and she was saying her good byes. She said she was at peace with what was happening and that she was not afraid. She only was concerned with those she was leaving behind including us at the cafe. She was grateful for all the “well” time afforded her and trusted God for the rest. It was hard to hear her good byes, but I am so thankful we did it. She is free of pain now and singing with the angels in perfect peace I am sure.
