With every surgery I have my bladder feels different. After every surgery their are scars, and they don’t stretch like the bladder does. So you might feel a little burning or stretching as if you have not healed yet. It has probably healed by now.

Sara Anne, Yes, I know Mitomycin is used in two ways. I have never got it as one dose right after turb, but as weekly doses just like bcg. My misstake doc, I though you had got Mitomycin as weekly doses.

Reason for asking is that I dont feel as everything has healed yet. It is over a year since my last turb and almost 6 month since my last treatment.

Nicke, Mitomycin is used in two ways. The way that Doc got it, as well as many patients, is as one wash immediately after a TURB. However, it is ALSO used as a substitute for BCG in the 6 week protocol. I have no experience with it, so can’t tell you about any side effects.

    Nicke.
As far as I know Mitomycin is a 1 time treatment. BCG is a weekly treatment. When I had BCG I didn’t have any side effects. I have had Mitomycin and had no side effects with that ether. The side effects that I have is from the scope, I have really bad spasms in my bladder for a few days

Gary, Good to see you back on track. I have a question for you. If I am not mistaken, you have got Mitomycin once a week for six week. How much side effects did you have, and for how long?

Sara Anne -That is another way of seeing things! I am now (almost) looking forward to the next recurrence, as it means I would be cancer free once more!
