    Hi Everyone,

My sister will be going in on August 30th to have her bladder removed. She has been given to options for diversion. One is the studor pouch, the other is the Ileal Conduit. My sister is 50 years old and has squamous cell bladder cancer. Right now her grade level is low. Her doctor does not like the Indiana pouch.

For all you that has had either, did you have any complications or side effects? What did you do to overcome them?

Any help would be greatly apprecited.

    Thank you.

I have an Ileal Conduit – I enjoy my diversion.

If you go to the link below, it will pull up a write up that Melodie has posted for me.

I have an ileal conduit and I don’t seem to have any problems with it. Of course I don’t know any other way except having a real bladder.
