  Shortage of BCG?

  I was supposed to start my BCG treatments but my uro’s office keeps telling me they are trying to find BCG because there is a shortage. Is this right? I had my resection in May and a bladder biopsy in June. Am I being furhter compromised by this delay?

  My provider has BCG, but due to COVID, won’t be treating right now.

  Is BCG really in short supply? My insurance approved it but the Uro says it takes a long time to get the BCG.

  Probably not compromised yet. If the TURB was May, normally you need to wait at least 4 weeks and my URO waited 6 weeks to start as you need to heal inside before instilling this agent.

  DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.
