    Dear Joe,

    Congratulations on your survivorship!

Thank you for your interest in the American Cancer Society and in the fight against cancer. From your message, it seems that you are concerned that breast cancer receives more attention and funding than bladder cancer. Thank you for sharing your concerns and input with the Society. While there are a variety of different cancer-related awareness campaigns recognized throughout the year, excluding the Great American Smokeout, the American Cancer Society does not coordinate any of these campaigns; however, we do support efforts to create a greater awareness of cancer. That said be assured that because we value your feedback your input has been shared with the appropriate staff for review.

The American Cancer Society is a leader in providing unbiased cancer information on bladder cancer by phone or online, helping people facing this disease right now and educating the general public about preventing bladder cancer and detecting it early. The Society also offers critical support to patients and their families in local communities across the country.

***I didn’t just say Breast Cancer I meant you know the popular cancers that get mentioned all the time. Joe

Looks like the same sort of answer I received back. Just the first paragraph is slightly different.

“Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns that bladder cancer and transitional cell carcinoma do not receive enough attention with the American Cancer Society. Your feedback has been forwarded to the appropriate staff person for consideration. Please be assured that your input is important to us and helps us improve our services and events.”

I do think it is important to have as many people as possible let them know they are not serving all of the cancer communities. Julie
