Problems with Catheter and Intravesical therapy
I have been under treatment since 2022 for low grade non invasive tumor. Two more surgeries, with last one in August 2024, with 1 low-grade flat tumor and 1 high grade flat tumor. Since my last surgery on 19 August, my bladder has not gone back to normal with urination. I have very frequent, urgent trips to the restroom, and not able to. hold much urine. After an attempted GEM/DOCE treatment last Monday, the solution just bursted out of my bladder with spasming. my bladder wasn’t able to hold the stuff in, so they removed the catheter and ended the procedure. My doctor prescribed Oxybutynin to control spasms and urgent urination. His surgery notes included finding evidence of polypoid urethritis along the prostatic urethra. I read that it can be caused by catheter irritation and pressure. I cannot hold the GEM/DOCE fluid. So now I am on hold until the symptoms are under control. Has anyone out there gone through this? I hope I can improve with this drug so that I can tolerate the GEM treatments.
