My husband is to have surgery tomorrow for some scar tissue in the ureter from Urostomy surgery. He had a renal scan and the surgeon said more than likely it is scar tissue in the ureter and wants to remove it. I don’t understand how this is done other than through the back.

Stacy I have had a bit of experience with neph tubes. When ever there was a problem it seemed that it was trial and error and what they had on hand to try. Give your Fathers health care provider a call explain the situation and see if they can help.

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything to offer you for your cancer. I am like you, in that I try to live every day for itself. Thank you for the reminder and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I had the same problem about 4 years ago or so. They went in using the same site that they used for my radical cystectomy. As they also had to do a repair to my Indiana pouch. I really can not tell you how long you should be looking at for recovery or hospitalization. I do know of cases where they have been able to do blockages using minimally invasive procedures. I am sorry I did not answer you sooner but I did not see this until now. Good luck and please let us know how things are going.

Hello Nancy… I hope your husband’s surgery went well and was successful in correcting the problem with his ureter.
