New to web site – advice on chemo
Hi,
I hope this works. I had a radical cystectomy in August 2006. Found spots in two lymph nodes. Started chemo on Monday. Am having a terrible time with constipation. Any thoughts, or words of wisdom?

Hi
The loads of water fiber advice is great if the problem continues speak to your doctor they will give you something to help. They seem to have a pill or potion to solve every side effect so dont suffer in silence.
Good luck and hugs

Hello bje,
Chemo is a teeter-totter, with an uneasy balance between constipation and diarrhea.
Be patient–if you’re anything like me, you’ll tip from one extreme to the other. It’s not fun, but at least it has an end. Imagine those poor dialysis patients who go in three times a week for three hours every week of their lives.
Alyssa’s advice–lots of water and fiber–is great.
Sorry you have to go through this.
Zach
Hi
I am not having Chemo but Oprah had a show on bowel issues the other day. A doctor suggested putting some flax seed oil on your cereal. Also lots of water, fiber, and of course exersize if you are up to it.
Best of luck
Alyssa
