Hi I am new to this forum and wondered if I could get some support from this forum. My mother has recently been diagnosed with muscle invasive bladder cancer in January just gone. She had a bout of suspected cystitis for a few months before christmas to finally being referred to the hospital. It was then, early January that she was diagnosed with solid cancer in her bladder. After a TURBT operation, it was then diagnosed as muscle invasive cancer grade 4. Five months on, she is now incontinent with her bladder and her pain in the pelvic area is giving her so much grief. She is taking 5mg of slow release morphine along with Pregabalin to help with her neuropathic pain the in pelvic area. She has lost almost two stone in weight now. She has just finished five days palliative radiotherapy, last session today.

I would be grateful if there is anyone with the same cancer who give me/my mother some advice and support.

    Many thanks.

    Natasha,

Welcome. I am assuming you are somewhere in Europe when discussing weight loss as stones?
Perhaps the best advice I can give is get a second opinion if possible. You know how serious this is being muscle invasive. By grade 4 are we talking about high grade tumors or stage with 4 being penetrating and out of the bladder?

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.
