I just had my 8th TURBT and another small noninvasive tumor was spotted near the opening of my ureter tube. I will be going in for a 9th surgery at which time they will be performing a Ureteroscopy to make sure there are no additional tumors going up the tube towards my kidney. I was diagnosed in 2016 with low grade, non-invasive bladder cancer. All the tumors I have had removed so far have been low grade. When I was first diagnosed, I was devastated but my urologist said “the bad news is, you have cancer, but the good news is it is treatable”. I’ve held on to that hope these past 8 years. After my first surgery, I was advised that there was a high chance of recurrance. Well, thats what has happened with me over the last 8 years. I’ve had intravesical chemotherapy treatments twice with the newest types of medicines and it still came back. Next step, BCG treatments. I hope I do well with that although I see on these forums that there are side effects.

I’m sharing this because I’m curious to know if anyone else has experienced such a high rate of reoccurrence with low grade non-invasive tumors. I have felt pretty healthy otherwise with not much discomfort with all the tests, treatments and surgeries. The only exception is the urgency to urinate but that subsides after a while. I am very hopeful and hope to hear from others.

Sorry for the long post … I’m new to the forum.

    God bless!
