I was unable to keep my three month cystoscopy appointment last week. Unfortunately I lost employment along with my insurance. I have applied for Cobra insurance but it will not start for another two to three weeks. Financial circumstance prevent me paying for it out of pocket, for the procedure and biopsy. My question to all of you how critical do you think a three week delay will cause?

    Regards,
    Anne

Sara Anne, thank you for helping me to focus, and get me back on track. After leaving the Doctor’s office first thing I did was post my results. I was certain that those on this forum what understand what I was feeling. My family is very supportive, but the they would all be very upset (yes, my husband cried) and that would only enhance what I was feeling.

Can’t help but think if only my doctor would have given me maintenance dosage of BCG after my first six, it would not have returned. I did ask him if it was necessary and his response was no.

    Enjoy your weekend!

Anne, just stop and take a very deep breath! One thing we DO know about bladder cancer is that it tends to come back, so this is not unusual. There are people on this forum who have had it return…it was removed and they received more BCG treatments, and it has not come back. If it does return again? There are still life-saving options available.

    You can conquer this!

    Hello,

Had my cystoscopy yesterday, the one that should have been done Aug. 13, got the bad news a new tumor has been found. I’m scheduled for removal Oct. 17th, the Doctor said its in a new area the size of a nickle. He stated its growing out which is good, but he did state that it grow very quickly. My last cystoscopy and biopsy was in May after six BCG treatments and was all clear.

I’m really upset, angry and very frightened.

    Regards,

    Anne

I second Sara Anne’s comment. 3 weeks without shouldn’t be a biggie. 3 months more would be.

    Hi Sara Anne,

I just wanted to thank you for taking the time to reply so promptly to my problem. Thank you for your kind and supportive words, I really do appreciate them. I was very concerned that I would be doing significant damage by not going on the scheduled time.

    Regards,

    Anne

A three-week delay won’t hurt a bit. But you don’t want to go six months before your next exam.

Here is wishing you good luck!!
