Hello – Betsy Mae here – defecting from the Invasive section as I have now been diagnosed with mets in my left hip.
I am due to see a bone specialist and will start a course of Zometa (bi-phosphonate)to help strengthen my bones.Radiotherapy has also been mentioned.
On the positive side – I am not in any pain and am not losing weight.
    Any thoughts welcome.

While I am new to all this, I still feel for you and wish you the best.

Though I have no words of wisdom, I am finding new people to add to my thought and prayers and you are added as well.

Anne, I’m sorry you had to move to the metastatic section. I take it they did not do a bone biopsy but determined this from the bone scan. I’m thankful you are not experiencing any pain. I hope this continues to be the case.

I remembered posting a link to an article about a bone strengthening medication being used in situations where cancer goes into the bone. I looked up the link and wondered if you wanted to ask the bone specialist about it. It sounded like it was in the final stages of clinical trials.

I wish I could be there in person to give you a hug. I will be thinking of you.
    Hugs, Julie

Hi, Anne! I am so happy to read they at least have a treatment lined up. There are so many things they can use today to control the spread and you are a perfect candidate for agressive treatment. Wish I could wrap my arms around you right now but I know how strong you are…..you’ve already been thru so much!

    Take good care!

    Betsy Mae,

So sorry to hear about your setback.

Are they any experimental programs you might qualify for? Sometimes you can get the latest treatments there.

    Betsy Mae,

I am so sorry to read this latest post from you. We will miss your comments on this section of the forum but we know where to find you. I’ll add you by name to my daily prayer list. May God provide you with the strength needed to face this new challege. Big Hugs…
