  • Is Cysto necessary when I had CT Scan normal

Posted by DianaPB on July 4, 2018 at 1:57 am

    Hello,

I hope to know 2 things:

    1. Is a Cysto for bladder necessary when I had CT Scan for bladder that is normal? I have small amount blood in urine. I know Doctor wants to know where the blood is from, but CT Scan is normal for bladder, why does he want to do Cysto for bladder?

    2. I have 2.1 cm Angiomyolipoma in kidney. Could this is the sole reason of urine blood?

    Thanks,

    Diana

    Hello Diana !

The CT scan would probably show if there were a tumor. However, there are forms of cancer that are more like a rash and wouldn’t appear on a CT scan. There are also other conditions such as interstitial cystitis that would not show up. The doctor needs to see if there is anything in the bladder that could be causing the bleeding.

There are lots of causes that are not cancer and many times no reason for it is ever found.

    Best of luck to you

    Sara Anne
