    Hi everybody,
I am a new to invasive bladder cancer and I have had two surgeries, scraping of the tumor and power port and a cystectomy. I have had 25 radiation treatments across the pelvic and I have had 5 chemo treaments. My Dr.s now today want to know where I’m going meaning a removal of the bladder or centralized radiation of the tumor. I have very little knowledge of the medical field and I really don’t know what to do.
I’m 75 years old and I need help on this decision.

    Thanks woodcarver

    Woodcarver,
where are you? If your doctors don’t know what they’re doing how are you supposed to tell them. Why all the radiation in the first place? To preserve the bladder ? Whose decision was it?
What was your initial pathology do you know? We’ll try to help but need a bit more information…and you might need another opinion here quickly.

Hello, my father had 2 scrapings and the Dr. said they wanted him to start chemo prior to bladder removal, that it would be better to shrink the tumor and lessen chance of spreading during surgery. Plus his scan showed a lymph on his leg was affected.

My father started the chemo the week of Christmas and is on his 3rd week, the keep performing scans and test and the last scan may show travel to the bone….I am scared and worried. I dont know why they just didnt remove the bladder and then do chemo/radiation…I hate cancer!!!
