Well i’m newly diagnosed…but this time with breast cancer. Who says lightening doesn’t strike twice? Actually my husbands Grandmother was hit twice by lightening..the real stuff and survived. Once in front of a picture window where it hit a tree in the front and traveled right to her feet to flatten her. The other time through the telephone! She lived to be 98! Probably killed all the cancer in her ya think?
I don’t know the pathology yet..will in a couple of days and then i will be off to MSK for my second opinion and treatment.
I suspect i will then change my name to just Pat (that can be male of female right) as most of my female parts are fermenting in a jar somewhere and i will have none left. I must have misused them in the past. The powers that be apparently think i’m not using my time constructively and have thrown another challange at me. I think i’ll just take a side trip to Italy.
Just wanted you to know. And has anybody seen my Angel? I loaned her out to someone and i think she got lost on the way back???
    xxoo PAT

    Hi Pat –

We will be passing each other in the friendly skies tomorrow. Heading home.

Wanted to wish you the best of luck @ MSK on Wednesday – I think it reasonable to believe you will teach them a thing or two!

    All the best, my friend.

    Pat,
Anytime we learn about problems like this it feel worse than being hit by lightning. However, I anticipate you staying with this group forever and only needing the other for a while.

I say this because my sister in law had breast cancer. She did go through treatments…. But…. she is now and has been for 13 years, cancer free.

That is something I hope you can use to help you through this. Once you take care of things, you can be cancer free without the concern I’m thinking you have with bladder cancer.

    I hope this helps,
    Vi

    Pat,

Sorry to hear your news about a new cancer. Your experience here, however, will greatly aid you in your new fight – you certainly know how to find info and are not afraid to seek other opinions. I am confident that you will beat this new cancer as well.

    Hi Pat,

So sorry you have been clobbered again; it doesn’t seem fair at all to me.

I found this website on a recommendation from a cancer website I use in the UK:

    http://community.macmillan.org.uk

Macmillan is a registered National Charity in the UK providing free support for cancer sufferers. Its a very popular website with several thousand registered users, many of whom are from the USA as well as other parts of the World. The site does not limit itself to 1 cancer type but there are several forums, one for each cancer type.

With very, very few exceptions, all of the folks I have met there have been so helpful and supportive. Its a very busy website and can get a bit slow at times but I’m sure it will be well worth a visit.

    Good luck with your fight.

    Cheers, Mike

    Dear Pat,

I don’t know how I missed this until now. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you begin a new fight. You must be exhausted thinking about all of this – I wish for you some measure of peace as you turn your formidable skills to this new challenge.

    Hugs from Texas.

    Pat,

As usual, you are strong and wise in the face of adversity. Once again, you will show all of us how to face yet another challenge…and win. We will all learn from you. And who knows, perhaps you will win the attention of someone in the media and can get some focus…attention put on BC…there just must be a blessing in this somewhere. We’re all behind you. Wish I were in Ohio where I could give you a “real” hug.

    Pat,

You now have the opportunity to be the go-to authority on breast cancer as you have been on bladder cancer. You are truly an inspiration in so many ways!

I’m sure you will kick this thing in the posterior and be doing fine in no time!

    Pat,
I will be keeping you in my prayers. I know you will find out all the facts, find a great doctor and be a survivor for the second time. Somehow you always seem to keep your sense of humor through very tough times and I know that this new journey will be no exception.
    Blessings…Jean

    Hi Pat,

This is all pretty overwhelming stuff I know nothing about. But I do know YOU and you are one tough, exceptionally smart lady. You faced and beat the BC monster – you will take this one on successfully too. Keep the focus on you and don’t forget to take your own advice.

Know that I’ll be here for you always – Gracie

    Dear Pat,

I am not sure what any of that jargon means….I am sure though you will be an expert before too long.

Obviously this is very concerning and I wish you all the very best for your appointment at MSK.

    Thinking of you.

“abreast” I bet you couldn’t wait to use that pun. (groan) I hope you can get what you want from MSK. You are sure having a steep learning curve with a new cancer. At least it doesn’t seem to be a spread from TCC. Hugs and prayers, Julie
