  • How often is the first followup cystoscopy odd looking?

Posted by hilarie on February 12, 2008 at 8:14 pm

My husband had a medium sized bladder cancer tumor taken out four months ago – thank heavens it turned out to be non-invasive and very low grade, caught early.

Now his first follow-up cystoscopy was…odd. Not bad, not good…just odd. The doctor says “it doesn’t look like the area has healed completely”. So now we go back in two months for another look. Anyone else have this happen?

    Hilarie,

It is not unheard of at all and it probbly is what your Uro thinks it is just not healing quickly. Often they will see things that are caused by treatment, prior TURBS, and sometimes who knows that turn out to be nothing. The great news is that he is keeping on top of it and will recheck it soon.

    Chin up and straight forward
