  • How Long After a TURBT Does Microscopic Blood Keep Appearing In Urine?

Posted by BigRIJoe on November 14, 2019 at 6:17 pm

Today was the 8th week after the removal of my second papillary high grade non-invasive tumor. I got my 4th BCG treatment today and when the nurse gave me the dipstick result, there is still microscopic blood in my urine. Is this a cause for alarm?

I must be asleep, Sara Anne. Microscopic is likely due to BCG irritation but, it IS a question for the doctor.

DX 5/6/2008 TAG3 papillary tumor .5 CM in size. 2 TURBS followed by 6 instillations of BCG weekly with a second round of 6 after a 6 week wait.

This is definitely a question that you should ask your doctor. We are not doctors here, and even if we were we wouldn’t be familiar with your particular case.

I will tell you that BCG can cause bleeding, so this may very well NOT be from your TURB.

That is one for your URO. Normally, any infection they won’t do BCG or visible bleeding. Microscopic? I have no idea.
