I bet somebody didn’t get the intended humor and did a “report to moderator” thing or something.
I’ve always said there needs to be a “sarcasm font” and your smiley at the end of the sentence (I thought) left no doubt about what you meant.
I also agree wholeheartedly with your other comments (2,3, and the followup line).

1) Mike, grow up, and act your age :)
2) I am living proof of a high volume doctor
3) Rick (Hox) is living proof of a low volume doctor. It still breaks my heart as to all the trouble Rick had/has.

Forum ModeratorJust one more reason (if anyone really needed one) to get to the best doctor’s at the best hospitals that do high volumes of cystectomies.
As we’ve seen from other studies, the number of complications is also lower when going to doctor’s who do high volumes of cystectomies.
Thanks for posting this Cynthia!
I haven’t been around for a while because I’ve been so busy with work and last weekend was another ski weekend!

All my doctors really pushed on how many radical cystectomy’s a doctor does a year. Higher number equals better outcomes. My oncologist basically said to ask them how many they did in the last year, and if it was less than fifty, thank them for their time and move on. RC is no place for compromise.

I’ll have to send Dr. Wright a note – I’m on a once yearly schedule with him now so I have to look for reasons to stay in touch. Given my history with him, however, I don’t think he’ll forget me.
Melodie, Indy Pouch, U.W.Medical Center, Seattle, Dr. Paul H. Lange & Jonathan L. WrightWow, Cynthia. You have been reading some interesting literature lately!
THIS one should be obligatory reading for anyone who is facing cystectomy.
