I went into uro on Twesday for my first checkup since declered cancer free. It has been 3 and one half months since my last clearance and I had no tumers just a red spot. In Docs words bladder looks good. And urine Test were all negative I am a happy camper. Becouse I go back to work in 3 weeks from winter lay off. Last summer was very tuff going thru the turbs and the BCG and then interferon. I will go back on the 12th of June for another P&P. I wish the same good fortune for all of yous and I will still read this forum everyday to see if in anyway I can be of some help to anyone. I also follow all of the storys on the forum. Not to mention this thing could come back someday. But for now I will be happy for Gods gift to me of being here now with no cancer. I have posted my story in the past, if you want to know what I went thru. I will say for now me and my bladder and his buddy the prostate are still hanging out together. Don Skypilot

THANK YOU FOR YOUR WORDS OF WISDOM.

I HAVE HAD 5 OPERATIONS IN A YEAR, ONE WAS LUNG CANCER AND HAD HALF A LUNG REMOVED, AND BELIEVE ME I WAS ONLY TOTALLY POSITIVE.

THIS BLADDER CANCER AFTER 4 TIMES IS HARD FOR ME TO BELIEVE, BUT I AM THINKING POSITIVE AND AS I HAVE BEEN TOLD, EVERYONE REACTS DIFFERENTLY.

MY PRAYERS WILL BE ANSWERED WITH THIS DISEASE AND MY THOUGHTS POSITIVE, AND THANK YOU AGAIN, YOUR WORDS I WILL REMEMBER.

IF I MAY ASK, WERE THE BCG’S BAD FOR YOU??
    [/quote]

Linda, you may be filling your body with “FRESH FRUITS AND VEGGIES + 9 VITAMINS”, but you’re filling your mind with the worst anti-vitamin of all–worry.

I’ve read (and believe) that as much as 94 percent of our inner dialogue tends to be about the things we fear, our worries, the people we’re angry at, our problems, our concerns and so on.

We don’t have control over the fact that we have cancer, but we can focus on those things over which we have the most control: our thoughts. If we guide our thoughts and actions in accordance with what we see and hear around us – particularly in the media – we’re likely to spend your life in a state of anxiety. That’s not good or healthy.

Instead we should really concentrate being positive and optimistic even in the face of difficulties. And the bottom line is that our thoughts are all we really have total control over. Instead of asking and wondering in advance how bad our treatment is going to be, be grateful that there is a treatment, and have an attitude of positive expectancy that it’s going to be successful. By asking “WERE THE BCG’S BAD FOR YOU??” you are adding a layer of negativity that doesn’t have to be there. Why not ask “what were the BCGs like?” That is the same question without the assumption of it being “bad”.

    It can’t hurt.

    Congrats to you Wildbill!

I’m thinking that I had Lydacaine this past time (last week). The nurse called it “numbing medicine”…(why don’t they speak to us like we have some sense?)…..anyway, I’m not so sure that whatever it was helped at all. I don’t remember having the “numbing medicine” before, and it seems to me that the former exams were easier and I was less sore afterwards…

Hmmm, good question Wildbill. I’m eager to hear more answers.

    Regards,
    Rosemary
