    Just had to tell someone!

My son Steve just called and told us he has passed Army Basic Training, and is moving on to the next phase, AIT in Fort Gordon Georgia. :woohoo:

It was really good to hear, after he was held back because of a knee injury last month.

DeiselDoc, You only have until Friday to boot him in the butt for making us wait, so look for a younger version of me. Or just anyone you see with the name Bergquist on their uniform.

Don’t know anyone at Gordon. My father was in the signal Corp. way back in the early 60s.

Good to hear from you Doc!

I think he caught wind of our plans, so he decided to get out of there before we could get him. :P

You don’t happen to have any pals at Fort Gordon Georgia do you? ;)

Rats, I will not be there the rest of this week. You should have told him to come over to 58th trans and look me up. I would have loved to meet him. :( :)

    Signal Corp. Communications.

As for going into basic, Steve said not to worry if he can make it through with a messed up knee, anyone can do it.

And your right Momma and I are very proud. :)

Congratulations proud papa! What MOS is he training in? My next door neighbor’s grandson is leaving on 4/4 for basic and I think he’s getting a little nervous.

    Best wishes… Catherine
