    My brother in law was diagnosed in February of 2015, he is being treated with BCG and it’s not working. They discovered this week that he has two types of cancer in the bladder. Fortunately they have not breached the wall yet. One resolved with BCG the other is resistant to it. In his meeting with his dr they told him that they would submit him for two trials both in gene therapy. They didn’t give him any specifics on the trials. In doing a search I found this trial
    recombinant adenovirus–mediated interferon alfa-2b plus Syn3, at MD Anderson.

    According to their website they are allowing 100 people into this Level III trial stage.

    My question is, is there someone on this site that is experiencing the same problem and / or someone familiar with any of the gene therapy trials for bladder cancer.

    Thanks

    Diane

    Diane,

    Clinical trials at U of MN take place at the Masonic Cancer Center of U of MN, a comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute. You can search and view those trials at:

    They have a Help Line;

    Its Dr Konety at the university of MN, he would not give any specifics pending acceptance into one of two studies. Thank you for the link, I will review that information.

    Thanks

    Welcome, Diane!

    Did the doctor happen to mention where the clinical trials were being conducted? Or if they were available with his doctor, what the lead hospital/medical school/ drug company is?

    Here is some general information that may (or may not!) be useful
