** This thread discusses the content article: Flow Chart of Bladder Cancer Treatment **

The flow chart above is a representation of my personal opinion (with the great help of other bladder cancer survivors) and is not intended as medical advice or for any other purpose other than to generate thought and discussion about the best course of action for bladder cancer patients to take.

I have no medical training other than that of a patient. My relevant experience is that of one that was diagnosed with CIS (Carcinoma In Situ) of the bladder in October 2006, treated with BCG and mitomycin and then diagnosed with a recurrence of CIS, which had become invasive in September, 2008. After a referral to UCH and a 3rd opinion at MD Anderson, I had a cysto-prostatectomy on October 8, 2009 at the University of Colorado Hosptil (Anschutz Cancer Center) and have been cancer free since then.

    Age 54
    10/31/06 dx CIS (TisG3) non-invasive (at 47)
    9/19/08 TURB/TUIP dx Invasive T2G3
    10/8/08 RC neobladder(at 49)
    2/15/13 T4G3N3M1 distant metastases(at 53)
9/2013 finished chemo -cancer free again
    1/2014 ct scan results….distant mets
2/2014 ct result…spread to liver, kidneys, and lymph system

My opinions are my own and do not reflect the opinion of ABLCS or anyone else. I am not a doctor nor do I play one on TV.
