I’ve never had pain with the 30 cystoscopes I’ve had, this time it was very painful. I’ve been having urgency, frequency, burning and leaking past 6 months, along with back groin and leg pain. I was prepared for a new growth but got the all clear. Thank goodness. Doctor started me on VesIcare anyone else have this occur?

    Thank you,
    Anne

Hi Anne — I’m new to this site and came across your question from 2+ years ago. I was diagnosed w/BC in Sept 2012 and scoped every 3 months up to July 2015 and never really had pain until my surgery in August 2015. I’m not sure what happened during that surgery, except that is the only time I can recall my Urologist bringing in an “Intern” to introduce her, and asked if I mind if she observed during surgery, told him as long as he was doing the surgery it was fine, but anyways, I came out of anesthesia moaning in pain, ended up in the ER that night, and basically after four in the waiting room, and four hours in the ER, they basically sent me home with pain medication, which got me through the pain for four days. Needless to say, every time now I have a cystoscope it is painful, where it never really bothered before that surgery. I hope in time that it hasn’t been as painful.
