Cystoscope Exam
Posted by KALWASINSKI on June 11, 2007 at 7:35 pmI’m new here but does follow up cystoscope exams require anesthesia or locals of any kind? I will have one in another month or so.

I’ve had 5 or 6 cystos as well… I dislike going to the dentist about as much! The first time is always the worst! Not a big deal anymore, except it is uncomfortable peeing and having sex for about 12 hours afterwards :) The nurse just squirts in some numbing KY-jelly stuff about 10 minutes before the good ol’ plumber’s scope goes in!
It would be more exciting if the urology nurse didn’t look like Selma from Nightcourt… but I guess thats the point.

That’s all.I’ve never found cystoscopies to be uncomfortable. Of course, I cannot speak for the guys! :-[
