We saw Dick’s Primary Care Physician this week and she looked up the CT scan results. The good news was no sign of any cancer sites. The bad news was the abscess site is bigger than before the drain was put in. What to do will be the urologist’s call. That appointment is next week when he was going to schedule a cystoscopy for Dick as he has not had one since the uretescopy in March of last year. There does not seem to be any evidence of infection at this time.

Yesterday we saw his pulmonologist who also looked at the CT reports and the report from the Bone Scan was available also. No sign of any cancer sites at present. Still Dick has some pretty significant pain in his chest under the ribs on the right. The consensus seems to be this might be a result of the lung surgery when they took out the tumor and that time is about the only thing that will help. So Dick said he would apply the tincture of time. He is also taking pain medication every day.

We don’t know what the schedule will be for rechecking for tumor sites until after we see the oncologist next week. We are feeling somewhat relieved that the pain was not indicative of a new site as far as the tests can tell.

We met with the oncologist today and got the official word and a copy of the reports on the CT and bone scan. No evidence of cancer at this time. This takes a great weight off our shoulders. Dick will see the oncologist in two months and have another CT scan in 4 months. It is necessary to stay vigilant as he has already had one metastatic tumor.

Ginger, Dick is certainly feeling better than he was at this time last month. It is still a slow process with still some difficult days. I am thankful he is now back to managing his own medications.
I am looking forward to meeting you here in Tucson. Julie
