Yes, coffee is a bladder irritant…but how to get through the day without it?

It’s okay when I’m at home…but it is hard to stay at work without that little perk….

Thanks for the post about the herbs and vitamins. I have been looking at the sites….

You guys should check out my thread about vitamins, herbs and healing.

Coffee is an irritant to the bladder, sugar is one of the top things you should avoid in fighting cancer. I know it sucks but I would ditch the coffee. If your going to drink it, try it black.

    Whit,
I agree with what other people are saying here and that you are having spasms…

I also suffer from interrupted sleep…last night I think I only got up twice, and I think it was because, as Wendy said….not drinking anything after about 7:00.

The only problem with getting meds for spasms is guess what?  CONSTIPATION…..

     I’m still having problems with this…yesterday, I think I peed every 15 minutes…sometimes tho, I feel pretty normal…

I did get a homeopathic medicine at the health food store for “Bladder Irritation”…it helps symptomatically…

I find my local health food owner/operator/manager very helpful to talk to…
Find a helpful person at the local health food store…find out what helps/works for other people that come into the store…it’s what I do…. :D I pick a lot of brains…..

No you didn’t imply it Ijust know that I am being one. I truely appreciate all you have shared with me. Yes brocoli is very big with me had some last night. My wife has prophetic dreams so I tend to believe in the power of dreams as well. She doesn’t tell me all but will say when we are out doing something, “I dreamt this” and will tell ma all about what is about to transpire., interesting.

Speaking of sleeping, since the surgery I’m not sleeping so well I have to get up every half hour to pee. I know that I am supposed to drink plenty of water at what point do I stop, what is plenty I really would like to sleep through the night or at least a larger portion of it. Do you have any insights?

I didn’t mean to imply that you were being a pest. I’m very glad to have a buddy who is on the same track as me….

Since I had the cancer, these foods and herbs have been showing up in my dreams….that’s all…when I wake up in the mornings I sometimes remember these things…pure cane sugar was one of the foods…and burdock was an herb…
I don’t know if you were aware of Edgar Cayce…he was pretty cool, cause he could go to sleep and dream up a therapy or remedy for someone and a lot of times, it worked. He helped cure his wife of tuberculosis…

“Another disaster struck as Cayce’s wife Gertrude Evans also fell ill and steadily worsened. The doctors told Cayce behind Gertrude’s back that she was afflicted with tuberculosis and was dying. In those days, there was no cure for tuberculosis. This time Cayce gave a reading for his wife. “Sleeping” Cayce came up with a compound prescription and asked the medication to be mixed with apple brandy and put in a charred oak keg. The doctors thought that such treatments were useless. However, two days after taking the drug, Gertrude’s fever diminished. Several months later she had completely recovered”

I’m not saying that I am an Edgar Cayce…it’s just interesting to me, that these things seem to come from nowhere…

I know that scientific people laugh at these things, but some things just can’t be explained away….

    Don’t forget broccoli….

    Hi Rosemary,

Thanks, I believe in holistic methods and I also believe in modern medicine the combination of the two can’t hurt. What I put into my body got me here so I need to change what I put in my body and only put things in my body that nourishes it and helps get rid of the cancer. I know that I’m being a pest about this and I apologize for that. It seems that everyone here is so much more informed than I so diet and nutrition must be out the and a part of it.

My doc said that they used to think that fake sugar caused bladder cancer, but now they have retracted that.  I have always avoided fake sugar, and I got it anyway…

I have started eating pure raw cane sugar, cause I had a dream about it…. :o

My doc didn’t say anything and I even ordered it after the surgery. I am kind of concerned about using Equal though. I’ve been using it for years and my wife has been convinced that it may cause some cancers. So I’ve switched back to sugar but I think I might start using honey or sugar in the raw.

I don’t know I’m trying to change everything that I eat and drink because I really don’t want a reoccurance. So any insight on food or drink that is good for the bladder and bad for the cancer let me know.

    Whit,
Since you seem so intent on getting an answer to this food question, here are some other things that I have read…

this Dr. claims that flaxseed oil mixed with cottage cheese is a preventative/cure for cancer…

    http://home.online.no/~dusan/diseases/cancer/cancer_dr_budwig.html

Also, I have heard that high acid intake causes cancer and you should have a more alkaline diet…  haven’t tried this one yet, but have tried the cottage cheese…you can google for alkaline foods.  It’s all over the internet…

Also, almonds are suppose to be very good for preventing cancer (I believe that Laetrile has something to do with almonds..I’d better read up on this)…

I’ve said this before here, but my sister’s nurse friend told her to tell me to eat vanilla ice cream.  Her dog had bladder cancer and the vet suggested this, and she feeds him vanilla icecream everyday and he is doing well…

Just throwing out everything I know so far…who knows who is right?  but what can it hurt?  I happen to like cottage cheese… :D

If you find out, please let me know. I do love my coffee, with cream and sugar please….

I asked my doc if coffee caused bladder cancer and his answer was…

    “I hope not”…. :-[
