    Hey Friends,

Uro says I’m T1 with CIS. Have currently completed 4 of 6 BCG treatments of the initial induction course with a cysto scheduled in May. Trying to determine how quickly CIS can progress to “invasive” if the BCG fails, and will there be sufficient time for the dreaded RC. Googled it, and all I could find were words like…”CIS can spread or progress quickly to invasive”, but no timeframes given. Are we talking about a matter of a few weeks or several months, etc…or is this the big unknown? Does anyone have any more definitive information or can point me in the right direction? Thanks!

    2/19 – Nephroureterectomy to remove right kidney/ureter
    9/19 – BCGx33 completed
2/20 – Invasive HG urothelial pT2 in prostate stroma

    Thanks Alan,

Appreciate the positive outlook and information. Yes, hopefully the BCG will do the trick, and I can continue to kick the proverbial can down the road…indefinitely!

I was in your shoes almost 8 years ago with the only difference was I had a papillary vs CIS tumor. Concern about the future abounded. Obviously I have moved on as I was fortunate to not have to have a cystectomy. I learned to control only what I could and eventually let will be, be. Easy for me to say now. First, let’s trust the BCG works. In the majority of cases it does-so that is working for you. I have read many abstracts trying to learn stats and came to the conclusion that while they are helpful, they are just stats because EVERYONE is an individual and each case is different. From the compendum of what I have read on non invasive, one should’t wait more than 2-3 months if BCG doesn’t work. I also have read interfuron added is sometimes helpful if the first course doesn’t work. So, you do have some time. Let’s trust it works- live one day at a time. At the risk of confusion, I am linking one abstract that says get it done within a year. Take all of these with a grain of salt! http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/109408.php
