  • Chemo doctor in Dallas recommendation

Posted by AlexM on June 6, 2015 at 8:32 pm

I’ve been diagnosed with muscle invasive bladder cancer. My urologist from Houston said I need chemo treatment before removing the bladder. He was going to recommend me a doctor in Dallas, but I have not heard from him

since. Is anyone can recommend a doctor in Dallas specializing in bladder cancer chemo?

    Much appreciate!

My Dad had a urologist at UTSW who we found to be excellent. His name is Dr. Ganesh Raj. Not sure about the chemo part, but I remember Dr. Raj saying he could handle this if it were needed.

    Thank you, Sara Anne!
I will be calling UT Southwestern, I was just hopping that someone could make a recommendation whom to call.

Woops…sorry. I thought that you lived in Houston! If you know the name of the
doctor in Dallas, I would go ahead and call and explain and make an appointment.
Or call the Houston doctor if you don’t know the name. Sometimes things do fall through the cracks.

If not, then call UT Southwestern Urology department and make an appointment.
As I am sure you know, time is of the essence here.

I live in Dallas. I went to Houston MD Anderson for the second biopsy, but I do need to have chemo done locally so I can continue working. My Houston doctor thinks chemo will be weekly for 6-8 weeks. It’s hard to go Houston that often. I would like to have chemo treatment in UT Southwestern in Dallas but not sure whom to contact, can’t find any name on Net. Do I look for urologist or oncologist? If someone here could recommend me a doctor that would be a great help.

    Thanks for your help!

Guess I do not understand why he would send you to Dallas when MD Anderson is in Houston? If you have invasive bladder cancer, you need to be treated at a center that sees LOTS of bladder cancer to assure that you are getting the best treatment for your condition.
