  • Checkup tomorrow after 1 year

My husband, John, finished his last round of BCG the end of October and is going in tomorrow (12/6) for his check up. I’m praying for good news. Elaine–I believe you are going in on 12/7, correct? I’m praying that both you and my husband receive excellent news from the urologists. My husband was diagnosed on 11/05 and has been doing well since his surgery on 12/05. He’s had his difficulties with BCG but nothing that he couldn’t cope with. Your prayers are appreciated!

Hello eveyone–My husband had a great check up today. The urologist said his bladder was clean. He’ll have another scope in March and BCG treatment again in April (he goes 6 months this time between BCG treatments). Rosemary–I’m praying that you’ll hear great news tomorrow. Take care.

I am really, really confused.  Maybe I will find out the answer to this tomorrow.

I remember the Doctor telling me that he was tipping me over to a 2.

But, what I read here about Stage and Grade is that T2 is muscle invasive. The pathology scared my doctor, but,  when I had the biopsy at UNC there was no cancer at all!!  The muscle was fine.

I hope I can sort this out tomorrow.

Sorry for the confusion.  It’s me. :-[
    BTW……..

    HOW DID JOHN DO TODAY?????

    Sorry, Rosie

It’s been a year since diagnosis.  I haven’t had a TURB since March.  In May, when I went to UNC-Chapel Hill, I had a biopsy.

Tomorrow, I go for 3 month cystoscopy…last cystoscopy in August.

    But, 1 year since diagnosis…… 9 BCG treatments….

My doc alwasys gave a dose of Mitomycin C after TURB’s (2 TURBS)

Rosemary, Are you, or am I confused? You said you had a TURB this summer but also said you had not had a checkup in a year? Whatever it is, I hope your next one shows you to be clear of any growths. I think I remember in your stating in another post that you had mitocycin C after the last TURB. Hopefully that kep from a recurrence.

    Wendy,

The original was a T1, and then, this summer with 2nd TURB and residual tumour, my doc sent it to two pathologists for 2nd opinions. I remember now, that he said that the confirmation on the path, bumped me up to a T2. I’m pretty sure he said this. And then, he made an appointment with BC specialist at UNC to determine if I could keep my bladder. The UNC Doc did a biopsy and it hadn’t invaded muscle, so I got to keep my bladder (this time)

I’m going to get the full story tomorrow. I guess I’m ready to hear it.

Whoops! I was confusing Rosemary with Elaine. I knew one of you were having a check up the day after my husband’s check up. Good luck Rosemary and I’ll keep you in my prayers.

Rosemary, are you talking about grade or stage? I hope you’re mixing it up. Do you remember you’re original diagnosis?

My checkup is on 12/07 also.  It has been one year for me, also.

I must have been in denial for awhile, because it just came to me yesterday while reading the forum, that my Dr told me this summer that he was pushing my grade up to a T2. That is why he sent me to the BC specialist in Chapel Hill…..  I was thinking all this time that it was T1.

This has been like a nightmare.

Good luck to husband John.  I will be thinking of him and Elaine.
