2 days ago I posted about trying to get in to see Dr S.Bruce Malkowicz of U of Penn. Well, got the call today. Nurse said I couldn’t get in till 4/8. I took it. She called back within 1 hr to say she spoke to Dr and said he didn’t want me to wait that long, so now I’m scheduled to meet with him on 3/22. Spent today making calls for all info they have requested. Even though I have always gotten comes of path report, scans, blood work & everything. I call current Uro who referred me to Dr Malkowicz and asked for copy of my entire file, which I picked up today from his asst, who then helped me with a call to pathology to get my slides. Tomorrow, I call the radiologist office I’ve been too to get all my scans etc on CD. I told his nurse I had copies of everything, but she said they don’t read films, she needs everything converted to CD. This is working out well, since my husband got hurt at work almost 2 wks ago, after MRI, it has been determined that he has full thickness tears in 2 of his tendons in his left shoulder. Workers comp rep called today to let me know that he has appt w/ ortho at Rothman Institute on 3/24, my original surgery date. Now I can go with him. He’s the type that will just say ok to whatever the dr tells him. I happy they’re sending him to Rothman so hopefully will get on the right track to get him the road to recovery.
At this point, I think maybe we’ll convert our house to a rehab/medical clinic.

    Karen,

Wow! Busy time! It is encouraging news all the way around though and that is certainly something to be thankful for.

I wish you and your husband the very best of outcomes.

Karen; I just wanted to wish you good luck with your new Doctor. I just posted on another thread that i wished i had been more prepared when BCG didn’t work. But in the end everything turned out very well for me. It sounds like you have the drive and right stuff to get this done and done right. I would hope that both you and your husband won’t be down at the same time. That would be tough.
    Wishing you the best.

Boy, Karen. You have been a busy girl! It is great that you were able to get in to see Dr. Malkowicz so quickly. I am always impressed when doctors make the time to see patients who really need them.

Good luck to both you and your husband.
