I’m going in Friday the first for another surgery to remove another large lump in my left breast. I just can’t beat this stuff. Makes me just want to give up sometimes. Oh well, keep marching on, it’s all i can do. :S :( :(

Just in case folks are curious about breast cancer in men:

What are the key statistics about breast cancer in men?

The most recent American Cancer Society estimates for male breast cancer in the United States are for 2012:

About 2,190 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed among men
About 410 men will die from breast cancer

Breast cancer is about 100 times less common among men than among women. For men, the lifetime risk of getting breast cancer is about 1 in 1,000. The number of breast cancer cases in men relative to the population has been fairly stable over the last 30 years.

The prognosis (outlook) for men with breast cancer was once thought to be worse than that for women, but recent studies have not found this to be true. In fact, men and women with the same stage of breast cancer have a fairly similar outlook for survival.

    Source for above: http://www.cancer.org/Cancer/BreastCancerinMen/DetailedGuide/breast-cancer-in-men-key-statistics

I was always under the impression that the outcome for men was worse.
I also thought it was more than 2190 per year.

Doc: Glad that isn’t what you have!

    Mike

So sorry, Doc. How about you put on your patriotic shirt and hat that you have on in your picture and you and your wife go listen to a good country band. I know you probably don’t feel like line dancing, but it might lift your spirits.
