  • Bob is giving chemo another try….

Posted by Clara on August 16, 2008 at 9:19 pm

After being off for almost two months Bob decided to try the chemo again. He had a treatment of gemzar on Thursday and will have one for each of the next two weeks and then off for a week. The doctor is not going to try any of the other chemo ingredients and is giving a mild or lighter dosage. So far, so good. I just hope and pray it will help treat the cancer and not pull Bob down too far. Also a change last week was to get rid of the cath. bag and he now is cath. himself at home. He has done good with that also. The urologist said there was less chance of infection this way.

Hoping and praying for the best for all my fellow BC friends.

    Dear Clara,

Bob sure has had a roller coaster ride with this chemo and I hope that his blood levels return quickly.

How is he fairing since the removal of the cathether…has Bob managed to gain any control?

    Thinking of you both often…

Hope that his counts come up. It is so hard waiting and wondering. Don’t want to intrude, but know that I keep you guys in my thoughts.

Bob was not able to have his treatment today, blood counts down too much again. Seems like he has had so much done that his body is having a hard time rebuilding cells. I knew he had been zapped for the last two or three days and also losing weight again. Lost two more pounds this week.

    We go back next week.

Clara, this is great news for Bob. I am sure he will feel better jsut by getting rid of the cath bag……….they just attract infections.
    Good luck

I am glad Bob has progressed to the point where he is willing to do chemo some more. I do hope this new plan will do what is needed. Julie
