Blood & clots in the urine
Posted by maxmag on December 16, 2007 at 1:06 amTonight saw blood & clots in my urine. It has been three months since my last scope(At which time I was clean).Needless to say this came as a shock…Having a difficult time dealing with it. This is Saturday night so I called my Doctor’s answering service…. Got the covering doctor..told him my situation. He asked me some questions then prescribed antibiodics. He said call the office first thing monday morning. Actually,I have an appointment for a follow up scope on the 12-19,which is this coming Wednesday..I don’t want to ramble here..guess my question is has anybody experienced this kind of thing three months after having a clean scope? What was the outcome? Worried, Max

Max,
You are correct — we are in this thing 24/7 — but it’s Christmas and that gives us a time to take a deep breath and hope for a better year next year. Can’t get hold of my doc right now anyway — he’s skiing in Switzerland. Will get back on this in January.
Merry Christmas to you and your family,

David,
First thing that came to mind when I read your post
was maybe you ought to talk to your doctor.
This is not much help,I know….But when I have
anything unusual happen thats what I do.
Yeah,I know…Sunday..weekend before Christmas…
Usually theres someone covering in case of emergency.
This disease never leaves you alone..Damn thing.
Anyway,I hope you don’t have any further difficulty
and that you can enjoy Christmas.

Dx March 2007David,
I had a prostate biopsy done last summer and I was told I could see blood for up to 6 weeks. My guess is that removal of part of the prostate would lead to a similar recovery – again, just guessing because I am not in the medical field.
Merry Christmas to all,
Ross

BCG Maintenance after 6 week treatmentMax, Jack/Melanie, anyone with input….
On Nov 30 I had a TURBT plus removal of a small part of my prostate and now, over three weeks later I’m still having burning, urgency, blood and tissue shedding. Is this normal after over 3 weeks? Hoping it will subside by Jan 11 when I’m due to start Mitomycin C treatments. What a nuisance, especially at Christmas :P — but then I’m blessed that all the tumors, both papillary and CIS were noninvasive.
Merry Christmas all,
David
Thanks, Jack,Melanie & Rosemary,
Your messages help..I’m feeling a bit better today.
Resigned to my situation,I guess…Whatever will be will be.
Trying to get myself in a positive mode(Ain’t easy)
Again, thanks for your care & concern,

Dx March 2007Max;
Please, try to be at peace. I had a near exact situation in August 2007. Went in for a scope and found that the bladder was fine. I had prostate surgery in May 2006 and the prostate still had not entirely healed and was “shedding” tissue. Please let us know the out come. You are in our prayers and thoughts.

Dx March 2007Max,
This is why the protocol is cysto every 3 months, so they catch anything early. Glad to hear you have a check this Wednesday. I hope it is nothing more than a UTI. Keep us posted.

BCG Maintenance after 6 week treatmentMax,
The answer to your question is it could be something of close to nothing. I have had UTIs that were not symptomatic with blood. I am sure we all could come up with stories that go one way or another but they mean nothing, this is about you. It is good that you have a check coming up next week so you can know what you are dealing with as soon as possible. I always find that the hardest times I have with all of this is the not knowing. I know that does not help a lot but hang in there and let us know what you find out.
Chin up and straight forward
