I have had two treatments of BCG in the last 6 months for non-invasive Bladder Cancer. And on Sept. 29th my final biopsi will be performed. Last BCG dose administered 3 weeks ago and I urinate almost constantly 24/7. I wear a condom leg cath during day and larger bag at night. I am sick of my doctor telling me it is only bladder spasms. Peeing every 60 sec. only 1/2 oz is a spasm?? I don’t believe it. The hospital I have been using is Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. Is anyone else peeing every 60 sec. 24 hours straight for 3 weeks??? I think not!
Oh, I pee only every 20 min when I am completly drained of fluid and it is painful. What is the best hospital for B-Cancer in the SouthEast? Thanks, Mike

    Hello,

I live in Augusta. I had a radical cystectomy 15 yrs. ago. First, I have one question…who is your urologist at MCG? Martha Terris is one of the best there. Otherwise, the Urologist who took care of me was Dr. Charles Coleman who is at the University Hospital…Professional Bldg. is where his office is located. Both are very good with Bladder Cancer.

Mike the only NCI designated center in Georgia is in Atlanta at Emory U..Winship Cancer Institute. One physician there well trained with bladder cancer..did his fellowship at Mass General so he should know what he’s doing. Dr.Peter Neih

    Hi Mike,
I am sorry you are having such a terrible reaction to the BCG. I can only speak for myself – but after 24 BCG treatments, and having terrible spasms for over a year, I certainly had frequency but never every 60 seconds, and never a cath.
I would suggest you get to an Infectious Disease doctor, sooner the better. This is definately a reaction to BCG and an Ifectious Disease doctor should be able to help, or at least refer you to someone who could help.
I would also start to look for another Uro. Everyone reacts differently to BCG, but this seems extreme to me.
