Hi Eddie,
Thanks for the response. I’ll look for your updates. I was dreading the TURBT before I got it a week ago and I made it through that. Had the Foley thing with the urine bag for about 2 days. Still have catheter from kidney to bladder but I think that stays in for a month or more.
I’m mostly worried if I can hold that stuff in for 2 hours. I guess time will tell. Thanks again.

You are right about the septic issue. When I call the Septic Guys they gave me Cudos for even thinking about it. So Cudos to you also. You DON’T want to put that much bleach in your system. It will kill all the good bacteria also. Luckily I live outside the city on an acre, so I have plenty of space to pee. I just used a 5 gallon bucket in the garage and took it out to the same place in back each time. Then I bleached the bucket and put it in the same place. I have a friend that used a Camping Potty which you can reuse, you just replace the bag. I have High Grade (Agressive) cancer so I am on a 3 year program. Renting a honey bucket every 3 months could get expensive. Good luck

Hey Mike, I seem to be just a little ahead of you so I will keep posting during my adventure. From doing a lot of reading I have determined that everyones journey is a little different. Focus on the end game. Hopefully we will both be posting 15 years from now. Stay strong and regardless the side effects hang in there and stay positive. That’s my plan. Eddie

Just had my TURBT 1 week ago. I have a phone appt w/my surgeon tomorrow to find out results. He already told me he cut into second layer of bladder a bit to remove tumor so I’m thinking BCG is the next step. Please keep posting. Hope your experience is mild. Mike

Hi, I have been recently diagnosed with NMIBC High Grade and CIS in my bladder. i have had the TURBT procedure and am not looking at 6 weeks of BCG. My first issue is that my doctors scheduler called and said she can’t schedule me for treatments until they confirm they can get the BCG. Apparently there is a major shortage.
Next, assuming I can get the BCG, is how to avoid putting all that bleach into my septic system. I plan on renting a porta-potty unit and putting it in the garage. Has anyone done this?
Thanks in advance for any response!
