I am a 69 yr. old male. I have went through 4 treatments of bcg and scheduled for the 5th today. The Dr’s office called me and canceled the appt. They say the medication is on backorder and they will call me to come in when it comes in. How will this effect my treatment plan missing treatments. I am concerned.

Many of us have had to suspend BCG at some point for simple reasons as infections or bleeding. I had one postponed I just don’t remember where in my sequence as it is so long ago. Missing one very likely is meaningless. The shortage however is a concern for all of us. Mytomycin is sometimes is a sub. Let’s hope it is a short delay!

Oh man… I really hate to hear this! I’m scheduled to start treatments and am traveling quite far to get them. This is because they don’t have it at the big hospital where I live. There is a nationwide shortage. I am worried about this exact thing happening to me. Can you keep me posted? It seems like it would interfere with efficacy and affect outcomes! Here’s an article I found…
