    Hi everyone

I’m scheduled to start BCG treatments in a couple of days. I’m wondering what to expect the day after. I work as a FF/EMT and I’m concerned about being on a call and having bladder spasms. I had A TURB on 12/17 and while I feel pretty good in general I’m still experiencing sudden urgency to pee several times a day. I mentioned this to my Urologist and he didn’t seem concerned. I guess I’m wondering if it would be best to delay the BCG for another week.

Thanks and Best Wishes to all gcurt

    Hi,

I’ve had two rounds of the standard 6 weeks of BCG treatment, one in 2000 and one in 2007. I had no side effects at all during either course. Just make sure not to drink anything for a few hours before the treatment and to drink PLENTY of water starting two hours after the treatment. You’ll be fine.

I was diagnosed 10/06, had a TURB and began 6 weeks of BCG. Initially side effects were minimal, some discomfort peeing. Side effects increased towards the last treatment. I received my treatments in the AM, returned to work late morning, but then I had access to facilites. By the next day, effects had eased with less urgency. Everyone has a different reaction, mine was tolerable. I will tell you however, that in the two next series of 3 each, reaction was greatly increased and I would not suggest planning anything that day for sure, if you need further BCG treatments. Good luck, it’s not so bad.

Hi, I had my Turb on 12/3 and my doctor will begin BCG treatments first week of Feb. He wanted to wait until my bladder was totally healed. I was dx as low grade TA non invasive 4 cm tumor. I still have some minor bladder spasms.
