BCG Preparation Question
Hello All,
I will be starting my second round of 6 BCG treatments in a few week. Unfortunately I still had some CIS in my bladder after completing the initial 6 rounds on BCG. The Dr thinks there is still at least a 50% chance BCG will work this time. I’m just over 3 months out from completing the first round.
Is there anything I can do to assist the BCG be successful?
For example I have heard that I shouldn’t take my lipitor medication prior to infusion. I have also read some hospitals and Dr’s don’t want lidocaine used as a lubricant with the BCG because of it’s acidity. Although my Dr doesn’t think it is a problem. I have heard if you take some baking soda that it will help raise your PH level which would be good. Someone had suggested that if you fast for 24-48 prior to BCG that would help. I don’t know whether to take supplements to boost my immunity prior to BCG or cut out all supplements.
So, I’m not sure how to best prepare and put myself in the best condition for BCG to work. Perhaps someone that has had success with BCG would share what if anything they did to prepare for BCG.
Thanks,
Clyde
