    Hello;

    First my thanks to Warren for his support. If you remember I had an elevated PSA recently. The velocity worried my doctor and he ordered a transrectal ultrasound and needle biopsy. 12 cores were taken and submitted to pathology. The doctor found calculi in the prostate during the ultra sound and the histology demonstrated a condition known as granulomas prostatitis. The initial symptoms, increased urinary frequency, interrupted and weak stream were all present. I communicated with warren who urged my to have the biopsy. I was afraid of prostate cancer as you can well imagine.

    I had finished a BCG treatment in October and presented with the elevated PSA in January. My doctor was cautious, professional and had my best interests in mind. I can tell you there were several anxious moments as granulomas prostatitis mimics prostate cancer in all aspects.

    The predicate is the needle biopsy for a definative diagnosis. Men out there and the ladys who motivate them I urge you to participate in the yearly screenings and be very, very comfortable with your urologist. Trust and expertise is so very important.

    Our lives literally depend upon our ability to collect information and be proactive in our wellness. There is lots of information on line. Again, I thank all of you. Melanie and I wish you well. Pain is inevitable in life. Suffering is optional.

    Dear Jack and Melanie,
    Congratulations on passing yet another hurdle. Unfortunately, with any cancer there are always more hurdles, even if it’s just the anxiety of the follow up. So onward Jack and Melanie and fellow travellers. It’s always part of our lives, but it isn’t our life, so time to celebrate the good news.

    Ooops I forgot the most important part:

    BCG therapy can produce the condition of granulomas prostatitis. Consult BCG Immunotherapy and granulomas prostatitis when you do the research. Sorry I forgot the most important part!
