  • BCG a no-go today … did I bring this on myself?

Today should have been my second BCG, but the urinalysis showed blood, white blood cells and proteins (???). They are sending it out to the lab for further testing, and have put me on Cipro for the next five days.

Did I bring this on by being too active? Over the past week, I have ridden my bike, lifted weights, and done cardio workouts involving plyometrics (jumping) and leg drills (lots of squats and lunges). This is not out of the ordinary for me. I listened to my body and never felt like I was pushing too much. Still, did I bring on the bladder unhappiness?

Good news: I get to enjoy Thanksgiving and my 50th birthday without the BCG this week.

Yup. I agree with Pat. Don’t exercise so much beforehand.

    :)

However, you did mention the upside. Have a Happy Birthday and a Happy Thanksgiving.

yep..you probably did it to yourself
Low levels of protein in urine are normal, particularly in younger people after exercise or activity. Protein in urine discovered on a microalbumin test may often be the earliest sign of diabetic kidney damage.
