Frustrated. Why do these urology appts take so long to get in to? You think that after calling 3 places I wouldn’t have to wait so long. Is it typical to have to wait weeks for appts?

Sorry getting your appointment has turned into such a source of frustration. When something seems wrong with our bodies, we want answers now! I definitely understand that and hope something comes through soon where you can get in earlier than scheduled.

Nashville, TNMy gyno was actually the ones who set up the appt. at two diff places. I live in upstate NY and it seems to be slim pickings. There’s not many around here and its very frustrating to me. I just want answers. I have called every few days to check for cancellations but no move ups have been available. I guess it’s not the time of yr to see a urologist.
Hi JessB… my first referral appointments were made by my doctors’ offices. My gyn’s office called to make the first uro appointment for me, then my uro’s office called to set up a referral to Vanderbilt Hosp for me. I got both appointments within about a week.
Maybe you could ask your gyn if they might be able to ask for an appointment for you. And I’m sure it depends on the number of uro’s and patient load in your area. There always seems to be a lot of people needing urology appointments.
Also, ask to be put on their cancellation list in case something pops up sooner.
