  • Anyone else getting Tokyo BCG?

Had my second dose Tokyo BCG yesterday. Urgency and burning more that first dose last week. Blood for couple hours after and either clots or tissue occasionally.

I read the Tokyo version has a higher amount of the BCG bacteria. I’m in clinical trial and in leg that gets standard treatment with Tokyo BCG – no priming.

    Anyone else getting this?

No, I’m not involved in the trial. Are you going to MSK for these or are you still being seen at Strong? Just curious. I lived in NYC for many years (after graduating from Brockport) before moving back to Central NY. I know the drive well.

How have you been sleeping lately?

Finally, with respect to your question regarding long-term disability eligibility, I’m 63 and retired after a 30 year stint working for Uncle Sam. I’m not eligible for long-term disability.

    Best to you.

Yes Phase III trial is to get Tokyo version approved in US and see if priming dose a week before induction helps with response.

    So there are 3 groups:

    Merck TICE BCG as usual.
Tokyo BCG with typical TICE protocol
And Tokyo plus prime injection one week before

I’ve always thought there was only one BCG manufacturer for the USA- Merck. I guess with a study they get around that?
