Anticancer
I wanted to let folks know that I picked up a book titled “Anticancer: A New Way of Life” by a psychiatry and neuroscience researcher named David Servan-Schreiber. He was dx with brain cancer 14 years ago. I am only at the beginning of the book, but essentially, he noticed that statistically a small percentage of people far exceed the life expectation of their dx. He began to wonder how to become one of those people. He used his research skills and medical colleagues to research foods, body-mind conditions, and other environmental factors in order to stack the odds in his favor. The stuff he recommends is far from “proven” according to convention medical wisdom (i.e., no randomized double blinded trials). However, there is some interesting science behind it. Also, I am finding the storying inspirational and just wanted to share this.
